Annaliza is passionate about her work. She has a determined nature and freedom is her key word.
Annaliza is an Adjunct Associate Professor with the John Curtin Institute of Public Policy, Curtin University of Technology, Western Australia. She is also a successful businesswoman with a drive in developing leaders. Annaliza has a passion for education and learning and unrelentingly advocates for growth of knowledge. She states: “We need organisations that will nurture our young knowledge workers and assist them to become our leaders of tomorrow.”
Annaliza was a Senior Executive with the Australian Institute of Management 1998/9 developing a strong knowledge base on leadership. She has always kept ‘one foot in the corporate sector and one foot in academia'. From 2004 to 2007 Annaliza was Research Fellow on a project with University of WA and Fire and Emergency Services investigating Integrity, Leadership and Behaviour in Organisations. She has developed leadership programs for the Royal Australian Navy, The Executive Connection and the Department of Industry and Resources. One of her more current was for the Department of Education, Science and Training, Reorganising for Innovation and Creativity – a model for change. Her consulting assignments mainly relate to leading and managing people.
Annaliza has produced numerous educational materials. After almost 17 years working with leaders and studying the field, she launched her Creating Leaders Program (CL Program) in 2006. (2007 Prospectus available under Our Events) Annaliza weaves the Creating Leaders (CL) framework into her coaching and all consulting and educational programs. Annaliza has produced two theses in the field of family violence and abuse and written in many other fields. Annaliza was winner of the First Prize in 1989 in the ADIA/Alitalia writing competition for her story in the publication, Give Me Strength. Annaliza is a highly effective leadership and life coach and mentor with over 20 years experience working with men, women and youth, in both corporate and community sectors.
During the 1980's and 1990's Annaliza held teaching positions at Curtin University, University of WA and Edith Cowan University. In 1986 Annaliza was the youngest woman in the world to represent the Italian Department of Foreign Affairs and President of the Inaugural Commitato Emigrazione Italiano. This body investigated and reported on the status of Italian migrants and their children living overseas. She was also one of the inaugural members of the Equal Opportunity Tribunal in Western Australia and Woman Deputy Chairperson of the Federation of Ethnic Communities Councils in the mid 1980s.
Annaliza has always been a strong advocate on issues of social justice and equity. In 1986 Annaliza represented Australia at the United Nations Conference for women held in Nairobi, Africa.
Internationally, Annaliza has presented papers to the Society of Psychological Anthropology in San Diego California, U.S.A.; the Sociology and Anthropology Department, Canterbury University, Christchurch, New Zealand; Diversity Dialogues, San Diego. The Foundation for Psychocultural Research (The FPR) and UCLA Conference: 'Four Dimensions Of Childhood: Brain, Mind, Culture, And Time', University Of California, Los Angeles.
In 2005 her paper on leadership and governance was published by GovNet Monash University. She later presented this paper at the National Public Policy Conference in Perth Western Australia (2006). In November 2004, Annaliza presented a paper based on her thesis at Melbourne University's Department of Criminology.
Annaliza has produced two theses in the field of family violence and abuse and written extensively in other fields including producing educational packages. Annaliza was winner of the First Prize in 1989 in the ADIA/Alitalia competition.
Annaliza believes that her most important role as leader is that of being a mother to Laura, Julian and Sarah – a role of which she is extremely proud. She is supported by her husband, Peter Jackson, Managing Director of Mantis Corporation to achieve her life goals.
