BA Cum Laude, University of Virginia; MA University of Virginia; PhD Brown University USA. Michael has held his position as Professor of Philosophy at the University of Western Australia since 1988. His major fields of expertise are in Ethics, Integrity, Social Justice and Racism. He has been regularly interviewed by the media for social commentary and has held numerous positions on Boards and Advisory Committees and is a sought after expert in his field. Michael is a highly respected and recognised ethicist, academic and social commentator. He has delivered programs to an extensive range of professionals, including corporate business and government sector executives and employees. Michael has a distinguished career and list of international achievements. He has held positions with universities across the globe from the USA to Russia. Michael has received teaching and research awards including, Rockefeller Foundation research post Italy; Australian Museum Eureka Prize for Research in Ethics for his latest book, Integrity and the Fragile Self; Fulbright Lectureship to Russia; Weissman Visiting Distinguished Professorship Baruch College New York; and The Japan Foundation, Tokyo. Michael has produced over seventy articles, four books and co-authored, reviewed and edited numerous other literary pieces. Michael brings to Annaliza Jackson & Associates an invaluable breadth and depth of knowledge, experience and expertise in the fields of ethics, integrity, social justice and diversity.
Gningala Yarran-Clanton
LLB University of Western Australia, Gningala graduated with a Bachelor of Laws in September 2002 from the University of Western Australia and was Western Australia 's first Aboriginal Judges' associate with Justice Robert French at the Federal Court of Australia. Gningala was admitted as a solicitor/ barrister in the Supreme Court of Western Australia in May 2004, and continued to work at the DPP's office until she rose to become the first Aboriginal State Prosecutor in Western Australia. The prosecutorial role undertaken by Gningala has given her an in depth knowledge of the criminal justice system and court procedures. A Wongi/Yamitji woman on her mother's side and a Nyoongar/Gitja on her father's side, she is one of six children and mother of five delightful young daughters. Gningala has also assisted the Western Australian Police with the Aboriginal Police Liaison Officer Transition program. Gningala also facilitates educative workshops for the Sexual Assault Referral Centre of Western Australia. Gningala is totally committed to supporting her Aboriginal and Indigenous community, in particular the innocent victims of violence, aggression and abuse. Gningala has had a long association with Annaliza Jackson herself. Gningala adds an important dimension to Annaliza Jackson & Associates with her highly developed breadth and depth of knowledge, experience and expertise in the fields of law, social justice, diversity and cross cultural awareness.
Bachelor of Arts Honours - Psychology, University of Western Australia (UWA); Masters in Industrial & Organisational Psychology UWA; PhD Psychology (in progress) UWA. Tim is a fully registered Psychologist (Industrial and Organisational) with the West Australian Board of Psychologists and a member of the College of Organisational Psychologists , Western Australia . Tim specialises in managing organisational behaviour and workforce planning and development. He has extensive experience in training and facilitating individuals and groups and has a passion for coaching and individual development. Tim's key focus is on individual performance management and developing the systems to enhance the human resource capabilities of organisations. His approach is values driven and is underpinned by the philosophy that the true and enduring competitive advantage of any organisation is its human resources. Tim works on assignments locally and overseas gathering invaluable experience with African based mining and resource companies. Tim is currently completing a PhD in Psychology investigating Integrity, Leadership and Behaviour in Organizations.
Frank Gemmiti
Bachelor of Science (Hons.), Ph.D. Candidate. Frank is a young, up and coming academic with links to Annaliza Jackson & Associates since 2001. His main research fields are Evolutionary Developmental Psychology and Psychological Anthropology. “Men who don't seek romantic intimacy with a woman” is the subject of his current doctorate. At 26 years of age, he has received a number of undergraduate and postgraduate awards, including a Taylor and Francis prize for excellence in teaching research. He has sole-authored a journal paper, co-authored a book chapter, and guest-lectured in second-year and third-year tertiary units. He brings to our team a wide range of research skills, including the collection, management, and analysis of qualitative and quantitative data. His expanding interdisciplinary perspective on human behaviour continues to fuel his belief that successful organisations grasp the essentiality of purpose and quality relationships in someone's life. He represents an important dimension to our consultancy and research strategising.
Damian Leach
B Com (International Business), B Social Science (International Relations), B Social Science (Hons) (Politics), Curtin University. Damian is a strategic thinker with a background in politics and the public sector. Damian's Honours Thesis “An exploration of the political engagement of Year 12 Secondary School students in the Midland Electorate” received upper second class honours in 2007. Damian's expertise is in qualitative research, particularly citizen engagement in Government decision making, as well as international current affairs. Damian has co-ordinated a number of community programs, particularly in the youth sector, and facilitated a graduate exchange program encouraging cultural understanding whilst at Curtin University. Damian has worked across the public sector and was a Parliamentary Intern for a WA Member of Parliament.
Lorissa Kelly
Bach Comm (Hons, First Class), Curtin University of Technology/University of Guelph (Canada). Lorissa Kelly is a forward thinking young leader with a background in business and politics. Lorissa was a recipient of the John Curtin Undergraduate Scholarship, Curtin University. This is awarded to academically gifted students who display John Curtin's qualities of vision, leadership and community service. Lorissa honours thesis, 'Stakeholders, Politics and Power: Towards an Understanding of Stakeholder Identification and Salience in Government' received first class honours and awarded Curtin Business School's ‘Best School of Marketing Honours Thesis'. Her expertise lies in qualitative research, especially in civil society's interaction with the state, and political research. Lorissa led community development programs and she implemented a mentoring program for at risk children for a Curtin University regional partnership program. Lorissa has worked in marketing, politics and public sector holding public relations consultant positions with leading PR firms and was political researcher for a Western Australian Member of Parliament.
Mark Kelly
Grad Business Leadership & Management Curtin University. Mark also holds a Certificate IV in Workplace Assessment and Training, a Diploma in Criminal Investigation and a Diploma of Policing. As Principal of Wizard Training Solutions, over the last 7 years, Mark has successfully delivered training in Frontline Management, Leadership, Operational Planning, Team building, Coaching, Performance and Resource Management, Research and Assignment Writing, and a variety of Communications and Interpersonal Skills programs. Mark is a respected facilitator who has worked with all levels of management. He has a wealth of practical management skills and combines these with a professional and personable style. He is dedicated to improving the performance of people and organisations through training and continuous process improvement initiatives. Mark teaches with a passion, his classes are laced with humour and personal examples. He believes in the maintenance of high standards and is meticulous in his preparation. Mark brings a strategic set of skills to Annaliza Jackson & Associates.
M. Com., Grad Dip. Bus (Curtin Uni.) Dip.LG . Bruce is a Fellow of Local Government Managers Australia. He has held a wide variety of executive positions in Local Government since 1967, including Chief Executive Officer of the Town of Northam for over 11 years. Bruce was Director Corporate Services with the City of Melville from 1995 until 2001. 2001 he has provided WA Local Government Association advice in a consultancy capacity on corporate governance. Bruce has an extensive knowledge of the role and functions of boards and professional staff in local government with extensive knowledge of compliance and management issues. This has led to a particular interest in enhancing understanding of the Roles and Relationships of Councilors and staff in local government. Since 2001, Bruce has been the Managing Director of his own consultancy. His experience spans from seminar leader for training for Local Government in East Java ( Indonesia ) and East Java Provincial Government to Executive Officer for City of Joondalup Governance Review. Bruce has consulted to a broad cross section of government and business including the CPA Australia. Bruce brings a wealth of skills, knowledge and expertise from a local government perspective. We are proud to have Bruce on the team and utilise his political nous and negotiation skills on a regular basis.
Helen Westcott
B.Sc., (Hons), University of Western Australia. Helen has over 19 years experience in research and consultancy in Western Australian local government. This experience has led Helen to gain significant knowledge and understanding of the process of local government in both metropolitan and regional areas. Helen has extensive experience in report writing, and has demonstrated superior organisational skills in the execution of many research projects. Helen has provided Western Australian Local Government with a reliable and objective external source of research expertise through her consultancy. She is highly experienced and expert in the preparation of funding applications. Helen understands training needs at a practical level and is proficient in both design and delivery. Producing economic impact studies and reports on the modeling of economic factors related to innovative urban developments, have given Helen a challenge and opportunity of a different nature and one in which she has developed a sound proficiency. Recently Helen has expanded her skills-set being responsible for the organisation of the 2004 Pilbara Regional Council (PRC) Conference.
